EDUCATION

Lee Rue is a professional lighting consultant and designer with ten years of experience in commercial and residential design. He worked several years as industrial designer and engineer after earning his BS in product design and engineering in 1987. He graduated with a MFA degree in Interior Architecture and Design at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco in 1998.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Rue started his lighting design consulting career after gaining experience with noted Bay Area designers and companies. As a member in good standing of Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) since 1992, and an associate member of AIA, he applies his high quality works by employing state-of-the-art lighting technologies with computer calculation, graphic supporting and CAD programs. Through the use of extensive engineering and artistic lighting design expertise, creative custom lumiaire design skills and a wide range of lighting products, he has been able to enhance the attractiveness and value of a variety of architectural projects. He received Thunen Scholarships and the Recognition of Achievements from IESNA in the lighting industry. He also taught architectural lighting design at the Academy of Art University, currently he teaches lighting design at UC Berkley Extension and Fashion Institute of Design Merchandising in San Francisco.

Lee Rue's experience includes large commercial projects such as Ameristar Casinos land and river facilities, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Hollywood Casino Boat, Aurora, Ohio, and Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida. Office projects include Applied Materials, Santa Clara, CA, PMI (insurance), Walnut Creek, CA, and retail projects in casinos, Hollywood Gift Shop, Los Angeles. Restaurants include Feng Nian Chinese Cuisine, Sausalito, CA and Foghorn Bar and Grill, San Francisco. His specialty is high-end residential projects in the Bay Area.
