This weekend, Colleen Mahoney, our very own green architect, will be spearheading a rainwater catchment project at an elementary school in Berkeley. Jefferson Elementary is home of the “Green Team”, over 30 students from 3rd – 5th grade that get together once a week to plan projects to make their school greener and to conserve resources. Colleen volunteers her time to meet with kids and inspire them to get involved in their community in the name of the environment. This Saturday Sept 26th at 10 AM they will get together for a “Green Team Work Party” to start the prep work needed before installing the rain water harvesting system. This volunteer event will call on students and parents alike. If you’re in the neighborhood, swing by and join them. Extra hands are always welcome!
